WHAT WE DO

SORT: We are extremely meticulous. We go through everything. We do not throw out anything that might bring you money, and we also keep an eye out for important documents.

SAVE: As we go through the estate, we put things aside that we feel the family may want to keep. We are very sentimental, so we assume everyone is.

We have found many sentimental family treasures along the way for many families.

SELL: We can host an onsite estate sale at the property. We will sell items online as well. The online market is crucial, as it increases the exposure of your items so they reach a significant number of buyers – bringing you the best money for your treasures!

Sometimes we find items people thought were worthless that sell for a surprising amount of money, so don’t throw anything out before we get there!

A Family Affair is uniquely different from the rest because I firmly believe that the contents of the estate are a part of your inheritance and I work diligently to get every dime that I can for you! Your loved one worked their whole life for everything they had, and it should pay off for you now. That is why I sell so much online and why I have such a following of customers both international as well as domestically waiting to see what I find in my next estate. The moment you hire me I become very protective of both you and the estate contents. I am not going to just sell off the items for pennies so I can move on to the next estate. I used to go to auctions when I owned an antique store years ago and I would feel guilty that I was paying nothing for the contents and making all the money. I always felt the family should have a bigger piece of the pie hence the beginning of A Family Affair. I can’t express what a labor of love this is for me or how close I become to the families many whom I now fondly call friends. It’s hard not to get close to the family or even feel like you knew the deceased when you become so intimately involved in their lives. I also cannot stress enough not to throw anything away until I get there what you think is garbage maybe worth something let me decide what is garbage. All the time people tell me OMG I would have thrown that out! However, ever estate is different and if you just need it cleared out super-fast, I can do that too or offer a buyout. I am a single mom of 4 and have lived in the area my whole life.  I have owned an antique and collectable store in historic downtown Owego, NY.  I have also been selling on EBAY since 2005 which has led to a huge customer following that now extends internationally.

I have sold numerous items most people would have thrown away.  I have a strong faith in God and feel this is not just a career, but my personal calling.
